Life is all about people, moments, and emotions…

NettatjieByReinet is a story of resilience and creativity, born during challenging times. Our family guesthouse had supported three generations, but when the Covid pandemic and lockdown hit, it could no longer generate income.

During that uncertain period, I taught myself to sew and began creating custom baby items like blankets, bibs, dummy clips, diaper covers, and more. The goal was simple — to help generate an income for our family, who had all worked at the guesthouse. As Nettatjie grew, my son stepped in to manage the guesthouse, allowing me to focus on Nettatjie full-time. My mother, after working hard her entire life, retired and came to live with me, enjoying a well-deserved rest.

At Nettatjie, we believe every baby deserves the best. We strive to create high-quality, handmade items that are both practical and beautiful. Our journey is one of perseverance, creativity, and community, and we are proud to be part of so many families’ special moments.

Today, Nettatjie is more than just a baby brand. It is a testament to resilience and adaptability. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we found a way to support one another and build something meaningful. With determination and resourcefulness, Nettatjie was born. Along the way, we have met incredible people — expectant mothers, proud grandmothers, friends, and families — each with their own unique story.

One of my greatest joys is helping customers choose fabrics and designs that reflect their personal style. I love brainstorming with them, guiding them through choices, and creating a final piece that feels truly special and personal. Being part of each family’s journey is an honour I treasure deeply.

Nettatjie’s journey also carries a very personal story. My husband was a crucial pillar in this business, offering unwavering support and encouragement. Sadly, he passed away suddenly from cancer. In his memory, I carry forward his spirit of resilience and love for life. This reminder that life is precious inspires me to make the most of each moment and to pour love and dedication into every creation.
