NettatjieByReinet is a story of resilience and creativity, born out of challenging times. It all started with our family's guesthouse, a source of income for three generations. However, when the Covid pandemic hit and the lockdown imposed, the guesthouse could no longer generate income.
During this period, I taught myself to sew and began creating custom baby items like blankets, bibs, dummy clips, diaper covers, and more. The goal was to generate an income for our family, who all worked at the guest house. As our business grew, my son came on board to manage the guesthouse, allowing me to work on Nettatjie full-time. Meanwhile, my mother, who had worked hard her whole life, retired and came to live with me, enjoying a well-deserved rest.
At Nettatjie, we believe that every baby deserves the best, and we strive to provide our customers with high-quality, handmade items that are both practical and beautiful. Our story is one of perseverance, creativity, and community, and we are proud to be part of the journey of so many families.
Today, Nettatjie is more than just a baby shop. It's a testament to the power of resilience and adaptability. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we found a way to support each other and build something new and meaningful. With determination and resourcefulness, Nettatjie was born. Since then, we have met incredible people, from expectant mothers and enthusiastic grandmothers to friends and family members.
We take great joy in helping our customers choose fabrics and designs that reflect their unique styles and preferences. It is a great honour for me to work with each of these individuals and assist them in finding the perfect order for their needs and style. I enjoy brainstorming with them about the decisions they need to make and supporting them in the process of composing a unique order that perfectly fits them. Being a part of each person's unique story and style is a precious experience for me, and I look forward to continuing this special journey with them.
Nettatjie's journey began with the invaluable support of my husband, a crucial pillar in my business. His unwavering encouragement and assistance were instrumental. Unfortunately, he has since passed away suddenly, a victim of cancer. In his memory, I carry forward his spirit of resilience and passion for life. This poignant reminder that life is fleeting drives me to make the best of each moment, infusing every creation with love and dedication.
